Image of Mrs. WasilewskiKatie joined the Hubbard staff in 2010 and served in such roles as special education paraprofessional, long-term grade 1 substitute teacher, office/recess paraprofessional, and reading paraprofessional before securing her kindergarten classroom teaching position in 2013. Without question, Mrs. Wasilewski’s unparalleled positive disposition and daily commitment to putting the needs of students, families, and colleagues before her are unique, defining traits that not just all educators, but anyone, would covet. The fabric of Katie’s character, meshed with paramount integrity and limitless positive energy, is simply unmatched. She is kind, patient, trustworthy, caring, and reliable concerning all aspects of her craft both inside and outside of the classroom. Her attitude, flexibility, and core philosophy promote optimism, confidence, and opportunity for those she comes into contact with. An exceptional educator who understands child development and education of the whole child, Mrs. Wasilewski can be trusted to provide the very best academic and social-emotional experiences for her students.

A graduate of WCSU (BA) and CCSU (MA), Katie serves on the district professional growth and evaluation committee, district math vertical team, and district science vertical team. She has also served on the district literacy vertical team. Mrs. Wasilewski is the BEA representative for Hubbard School and team leader for kindergarten. She is a member of the TEAM committee, a trained TEAM mentor, and has provided new teacher training at each year’s initial TEAM meeting. Katie has served on Hubbard’s instructional rounds team, participated in curriculum writing every summer, and has taught after-school enrichment courses. Mrs. Wasilewski has also offered her time regarding various school committees, events, and fundraisers. She has served on numerous interview committees, the school social committee, and has volunteered her services at the Hubbard School Carnival and PTO Pasta Supper.
